

Roy was born in Tampa, Florida to Marion Elizabeth Thorpe and Roy Gilbert Ramsey, Sr. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the army and served 2 years in Germany. When he returned to the U.S. he attended the University of Florida and graduated with a degree in engineering. His degree led him to Kennedy Space Center
in 1966, where he had a distinguished career in the Apollo and Space Shuttle programs.
After he retired from NASA, he worked with Joyce at her craft store in Casselberry, FL.
His passion in life was cooking, and he was a Cordon Bleu trained chef. Roy also enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling around the world and spending time with friends and family. He was integral in the creation of New Life Christian Fellowship church and served as an usher for many years. He loved the Lord and had unwavering faith in the power of prayer.
Roy is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Sara Diamond, his daughter Cheryl Ramsey, and granddaughter Abigail Braswell. He is survived by his loving wife Joyce Ramsey, children Nancy Braswell, Perry Ramsey, wife Lilian, Shelby Roberts, wife Andrea, and Pamela Campbell, husband Tommy. Grandchildren, Shane Campbell, Sarah Tucker, David Ramsey, Anna Ramsey, Nathan Braswell, and seven great-grandchildren
