Tim was a beloved servant-leader for more than 51 years in Titusville and its surrounding communities. He began his life in Morgantown West VA and his adult life in the U.S. Air Force as an aircraft mechanic and crew chief on cargo planes like the C130s. He enjoyed piloting small planes into his 30s. After the Air Force, he was a police officer with the Annapolis police department for several years in the mid-60s working alongside his father who was also a police officer. He used to comment about him and his father ‘walking the beat’ together. Tim was a man of high intelligence and many talents and having just one profession in his life was not his style. He loved life and was very accomplished in many things throughout his life. Tim was a working cowboy amongst other occupations prior to moving to Titusville in 1969, at which time, he joined Bell South as a communications engineer at the Kennedy Space Center. He worked for the phone company for 35 years serving the space program well, including the surrounding North Brevard communities as a subject matter expert. He also played the saxophone and bass guitar professionally for nearly 40 years including 2 invitations to play at the Grand Ole Opry, which he did. He was one of the 1st musicians in the 70s to play sax in country music and he did it well. Folks would come from all over the eastern seaboard to hear him play the sax and some moved here from out-of-state to collaborate with him musically, he was that good! He was a certified cave and ocean scuba diver for much of his adult life. He enjoyed building and flying RC model airplanes for almost 38 years teaching up-and-coming generations. Tim was an electronics genius; building ham radios, oscilloscopes, TVs (he built the family’s 1st color television in 1975), and computers from the ground up. And if this wasn’t enough, he coached, umpired and was a commissioner in Little League sports for 36 years; football, baseball, softball, and coached soccer at the high school level. He was a member of American Legion Post 1 and a member of New Fellowship Baptist Church.
Tim poured his heart and soul into everyone around him and into everything he did touching so many lives over the years. But it was his contribution as a Father that meant the most to him. His selfless love of others, his family and friends, his sense of humor, his many talents and intelligence is a legacy that will live on forever.
Thank you Daddy!
