Walter A Rowley

Walter Allan Rowley, 86, of Cocoa, FL, formerly of En-

field, CT, passed away suddenly at his home on Wednesday, June

22nd

He was born October 10, 1924 in Winsted, CT where he

spent his happy childhood. He was the son of Allan R. Rowley

and Rosabelle (Raley) Rowley.

He attended The Gilbert School in Winsted, CT where he

graduated as salutatorian. He proudly served his country in the

Navy (Seabees) during World War II. He also attended the Uni-

versity of Connecticut in Storrs. He worked at Connecticut Mu-

tual Life Insurance Co. in Hartford, retiring in 1985.

Walter was an avid reader and lover of nature. He was

also an active member of Hope United Church of Christ in Rock-

ledge, FL.

He was pre-deceased by his wife of 47 years, Elizabeth

(Devlin) Rowley and their son Daniel D, Rowley. He was deeply

loved by his children and grandsons. He leaves his daughter, Mar-

garet R. Rowley of Cocoa, FL who cared for him for many years;

two sons, Allan J. Rowley of MA, and David S. Rowley of

Huntsville, AL. He also leaves his daughter Cynthia Broughal

and her husband John of E. Windsor, CT; his grandchildren:

Zachary Broughal and his girlfriend Amie Bullock of Windsor,

CT, and Eric Broughal ofE. Windsor, CT.

We wish to thank all of our family and friends for their

endless devotion and prayers; especially June Broughal for her

weekly cards of care and concern. Also, special to him, are long-

time friends of the family: Alice Brewczynski of Enfield, CT and

Debbie Mazur, also of Enfield; Drucilla Conway of E. Hartford,
