Arthur Russell Halferty

Arthur Russell Halferty age 94 of Coldwater passed away Saturday, December 17, 2016. He was born April 27, 1922 in Milford, Indiana the son of Brady and Flosie (Bard) Halferty. He married Margaret Lennox in 1942 and she preceded him in death in 2013. Arthur served our country during WWII in the United States Air Corps and worked hard his whole life to support himself and his family. He retired from Midwest Foundry as an Assistant Foreman and Set-up man.

Arthur is survived by a daughter, Shirley Halferty and a son, Timothy (Susanne) Halferty, 5 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife of 72 years, Arthur is preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers, Brady Jr, Max and Bernard.

Arthur’s family will celebrate his life on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Dave Anderson officiating at Putnam Funeral Home, 11 E. Chicago St., Coldwater, MI. The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday from 9AM-11AM. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Branch County, 969 Wildwood Rd., Quincy, MI 49082.
