

Clayton C. Sherwood, 89, of Tekonsha, died April 22, 2015 at Bronson at Home in Battle Creek, MI. He was born April 1, 1926, to Clayton M. and Mamie E. (Twing) Sherwood in Big Rapids, MI. He married Carolyn I. Crissy Boyer on July 3, 1956 in Union City, MI.
Clayton was the owner for 35 years of Sherwood Pharmacy (later Evans Drug Store) in Tekonsha, at one time the longest continuously operated pharmacy in Michigan. He was a Navy veteran, member of the Union Church United Church of Christ, and an active member of the Tekonsha community.
Clayton is survived by his wife Carolyn, children John C. Sherwood of Marshall, Jeff (Beverly) Sherwood of Indianapolis, Jane L. Forsberg of Mason, Kurt N. Sherwood of Kalamazoo and Todd L. (Cathy) Sherwood of Ann Arbor. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Nathan, Marie, Johanna, Arthur, Mark and Jessie; a great- grandchild, Kingston; and sisters, Joyce Keir of Alexandria, VA, and Kay Ryckman of South Boardman, MI. A grandchild, Scott, is deceased.
Friends and relatives will gather from 6-8 pm Friday May, 1, 2015, at Putnam’s of Tekonsha. Memorial services will be at 10 am Saturday, May 2, 2015, at Union Church United Church of Christ in Tekonsha. All attending will be encouraged to share their thoughts and memories.
