Daniel A. Kaepp

Daniel “Dan” A. Kaepp, 74, of Coldwater, passed away Monday, December 9, 2013 at his home. He was born May 14, 1939 in Dearborn, MI to Elmer and Alice (Ross) Kaepp. He married Kay Carscallen February 6, 1965 in West Branch. She survives.

Dan was a graduate of Ferris State University in 1985. He spent his early years in service of his country in Korea and Vietnam retiring as Master Sergeant in the U. S. Army. He had also been a scoutmaster in Reed City. Dan spent several years in Iron County government as County Administrator and served on the school board, then moving to Coldwater in 1996 to become Branch County Administrator retiring in 1997. Dan belonged to service clubs in Iron County and Coldwater. Kiwanis, President in Kiwanis, Sunrise Rotary, Exchange Club all in Coldwater, The German-American Club and Sister City program in Coldwater. He loved wood working, camping/RVing, his dachshunds, travel, gardening, reading, especially westerns and he was devoted to his family and his church.

Dan is survived by his wife, Kay; 3 sons; Erich (Sandra) Kaepp of Highland, IL, Peter (Christina) Kaepp of Menasha, WI, Jeffrey (Dayna) Kaepp of RAF Lakenheath, UK, 8 grandchildren; William, Mia, Ariel, Christian, Noah, Joshua, Zachary, Katie Kaepp, and a brother, Gregory Kaepp.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with one hour of visitation prior to the service at St Paul Lutheran Church with Rev. Aaron Chittick officiating.

Interment will be at Mason Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church
