Janet Marie Smith Knapp

Janet M. Knapp, 77 of Coldwater, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at Bronson Battle Creek. She was born May 25, 1938 in Coldwater to Richard and Mirth (Roe) Smith. She married Lowell Knapp August 1, 1959 in Coldwater. Janet lived most of her life in the Coldwater area.

Janet liked to cook and garden. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, feeding her birds and squirrels. Her family always came first and she loved spending time with all her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Janet had also been a Campfire Girl Leader.

She is survived by her husband Lowell of 56 years. Daughter, Laurie (Mark) Ludlow, son, Robert Knapp, daughter, Deborah (Mark) Lirot, daughter, Lisa (Derek Radtke) Neitzert, 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, sister, Gail (Jack) Snyder, brother, Thomas (Jeri) Smith, sister, Linda (Gary) Smith, brother, Lynn (Marsha) Smith, brother, Keith Smith. Numerous nieces and nephews. Janet was preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Ryan McLatcher.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 14, 2016 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.at the Putnam Funeral Home in Coldwater. Funeral services will be on Monday, February 15, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor David Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Girard.
