

Kenneth F. Cook, 92 of Coldwater passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at Maple Lawn. He was born Feb. 20, 1923 in Cortland, NY to Claude and Martha (Thomas) Cook. He married Helen Livingston Sept. 8, 1945 in Mogadore, Ohio.
Ken made ice cream at the Marion Margaret Ice Cream Co. in New York from 1940 – 1954 and for Harry’s Ice Cream Parlor (now Jeannie’s Diner) in Coldwater from 1954 - 1972 when they closed. He also retired from the Regional Center as a supervisor in 1984 after 23 years.
He was a member of the Coldwater Kiwanis for six years, serving as secretary, member of the United Methodist Church holding various offices and teaching Sunday school, member of the Merry Mixers Square Dance Club for 21 years serving as president, secretary and treasurer, member of the Battle Creek Square and Round Dance Assoc. where he also held offices and he volunteered at the Library. He loved square dancing, woodworking, crafts, gardening and doing puzzles. Ken is survived by his children, Brian (Penny) Cook of Quincy, David (Kristine) Cook of Coldwater, Gary (Su Sheldon) Cook of Stevensville, Karen (Conrad) Scholl of Spring Arbor, 16 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents his wife Helen, a daughter Cheryl Pierucki in 1995, 1 brother and 2 sisters.
Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 18, 2015 from 11 am until the time of the service at 12 noon at the Coldwater United Methodist Church. Pastor Edrye Maurer will officiate with Military Honors and burial at Ft Custer National Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be given to the Coldwater United Methodist Church or Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility.
