Marjorie Marge Ellen Prestidge

Marjorie Ellen Prestidge, age 99 of Coldwater passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2016 in Coldwater under the loving care of her family. She was born November 15, 1917 in South Bend, Indiana the daughter of Byron and Ednace (Snyder) Stoup. Marge spent most her childhood around LaGrange, IN area and came to Coldwater with her family and made it her home since 1929. She graduated from Coldwater High School and was a member of Beta, Sigma Phi Sorority. She married Robert A. Prestidge on February 18, 1939 in Coldwater and he preceded her in death on November 16, 1986. Marge retired from working as a secretary for Coldwater Schools in 1980. She was a very accomplished seamstress and kept herself busy after retirement by sewing for people.

Marge is preceded in death by her parents, step-mother, Helen Gardner, son, Stephen and 2 brothers, Max and Kenneth Stroup.

She leaves to cherish her memory son, Lee Prestidge; 3 grandchildren: April (Leonard) Parr, James (Leisha Taylor) Prestidge, William (Samantha) Prestidge; 6 great-grandchildren: Marissa, Jon, Kathryn, Emma, Chelsea and Gabriella.

Marge’s family will celebrate her life with a service at Putnam Funeral Home, 11 E. Chicago St., Coldwater, Thursday, December 22, 2016 with visitation from 12 NOON until the service at 1:00 PM with Chaplain David Brown officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her late husband in Oak Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Branch County, 969 Wildwood Rd., Quincy, MI 49082.
