Smith B. Ferguson

Smith B. Ferguson, 94, of Coldwater, passed away Monday, January 4, 2016 at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility. He was born October 15, 1921 in Coldwater to Smith B. and Viola (Taylor) Ferguson. He married Doris B. Mohrhardt on February 23, 1946. She survives.

Smith was a 1940 graduate of Coldwater High School. He had several jobs in his lifetime, an auto body repairman, a machinist at Federal Mogul and a security guard at the Community Health Center. He retired in 1986. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Coldwater for over 60 years.

He is survived by his loving wife, Doris, daughter, Yvonne (Dewey) Harris III of Coldwater, son, Ronald Ferguson of Coldwater, 2 grandsons; Dewey IV (Laura) Harris of Venice, FL, David (Beth) Harris of Canton, MI, 3 great grandchildren; Paige (Ben) Myers, Nicholas and Emmett Harris. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers.

Cremation has taken place and a Memorial service will be held Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church, 102 Bishop Avenue, Coldwater with Pastor David Pierce officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility or the Michigan Alzheimer’s Association.
