Annie L Pernell, age 62 of Atlanta, Ga was called home December 27,2019. Affectionately known by many as “Sue” or “Sue Gal” was born in Dillon, SC on December 18, 1957 to the late Preston Sr and Louise Pernell.

Annie’s life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by her understood that the quality of her existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which she lived. Annie was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Nanna. Annie was employed at Emory St. Joseph for over thirty years. She had a vivacious personality and always made everyone around her laugh. She never met a stranger and was a wonderful friend to many. She was a lover of music and sailing the beautiful blue seas of the Caribbean with family and friends.

Annie leaves to cherish her memories and celebrate her legacy: three loving daughters. Sonja, Vickie, and Kimberly Hodges all of Atlanta, GA; Ten grandchildren, Shanise, Amari, Shania, Camari, Christian, Saxton Jr, Autumn, Addalyn, Olivia, and Omari; one great grandchild, Shane-Ryan; five loving sisters, Delores Harley of Dillon, SC; Barbara Campbell of Fuquay-Varina, NC; Linda Bethea, Carolyn Williams(Rodney) and Joyce Pernell all of Dillon, SC; four brothers Preston(Evonda)Pernell Jr, Douglas(Cynthia)Pernell, Rodney Pernell, John Pernell all of Dillon, SC; one brother preceded in death, James Pernell. And a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and two dedicated sister-friends, Ms. Betty-Jean Johnson of Raliegh, NC and Ms. Shirley Battle of Atlanta, GA.

My sister I will always hold you close to my heart. You fought a good fight. You never complained once. We shopped. We shared. We cruised. We cared but most of all we loved. You opened your doors to all of my friends from day one. I will always love you and will never forget you. For ever your BABYGIRL.

Sending my deepest condolences to the Pernell family, you all are in my prayers, may God give you all the strength during this difficult time. I too will miss Sue, I admired your strength & your humor, I loved to see you dancing as well...As Ecclesiastes 3:4 reads: A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; You will definitely be missed my friend, keep dancing for the lord as David did.. As I said before, I don’t like the word goodbye so for now, I’ll say again. I’ll see ya later❤️
