

She was born on October 13, 1950, in Albany, Georgia, to the late Luke and Katie Mae (Hawk) Williams II. Beatrice has three siblings: James C. Williams, Helease Byrd, and the late Charlie A. Williams. She grew up in Albany and was a proud graduate of Albany High School.
Beatrice attended Tuskegee Institute, where she earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nutrition—an achievement she was deeply proud of and continued to honor throughout her life as an active and supportive alumnus.
In 1973, Beatrice married Joseph T. Walker. From this union, two daughters were born: Alecia A. Walker and Kimberly L. Walker, who brought her joy and pride in life.
Beatrice dedicated over 20 years to improving the health and well-being of her community as a nutritionist and educator, serving in both public health and community outreach roles. Her passion for wellness and nutrition impacted many lives, from the clients she counseled to the students she mentored. Beyond her professional life, Beatrice enjoyed working on science projects with her grandchildren and exploring new restaurants, always embracing life’s curiosities with warmth and enthusiasm.
She was a faithful member of Ben Hill United Methodist Church, where her generosity and service were evident to all. Beatrice particularly enjoyed giving back during the holiday season, often donating toys through the church’s Angel Tree program, bringing joy to countless children and families in need.
Her memories will live on through her daughters, Alecia A. Walker and Kimberly L. Walker; her siblings, Helease Byrd and James C. Williams; her grandchildren, Adrienne (Chris) Augurson, Carter L. Knapp, and Katelyn I. Walker; uncle, Paul (Bobbie Jean) Holder; nephews, Luke (Jerneko) Williams III and Marcus Williams; niece; Carmen Byrd and a host of relatives and friends.
