Billie was born on September 20, 1929 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. She was the oldest of three children born to Joe and Thelma Eubanks. Billie grew up in Greeley, Colorado where she graduated high school. Billie joined the Army at the age of 19. She served in Tokyo, Japan where she met and married her husband Richard Patton who was enlisted in the Air Force. Billie was very proud of her military accomplishments. Richard retired from military life in 1965 and settled his family in East Point, Georgia. They lived there for 54 years, their home became the gathering place for many generations. Billie loved being the hostess. The doors to their home were always open to not only family but to friends as well.
Billie was extremely devoted to her family. She really valued the time spent with her four grandchildren, and seven great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Richard Patton, her son; Alan Patton and her brother; Hal Eubanks.
She is survived by her sister; Dorothy Dunlap, her daughter; Patti (David) Burke, her daughter-in-law; Linda Patton, her grandchildren; Sean Patton, Jessica (Darryl) Atherton, Stacey (Eric) Gibbs, and Katie (Josh) Odom, and her great-grandchildren; Leah, Nathan, Kaitlyn, Ryleigh, Tyler, Piper and Ava.
There will be a graveside service at 2 PM on Saturday, April 17th at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in College Park, GA.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The American Cancer Society or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
