Diane Favors

Diane Favors was born to the late Willie Lee and Hattie Gates Favors on July 3, 1945 in Greenville, Georgia where she attended Greenville Consolidated High School. After graduation she moved to Atlanta, Georgia and decided to further her education at Demery School of Business where she received her certification in Secretarial Science. After graduating from Demery, Diane moved to Spring Valley, New York where she lived for an extended period of time until deciding to return to Atlanta Georgia to begin a career with the U.S. Postal Service. After a few years of dedicated service with the Postal Svc. Diane decided to make a career change and took a job working with Bell South now known as AT&T. She stayed with AT& T and held several different positions until deciding to retire.

Diane led a life full of love, laughter and compassion. She was known for her directness. She was never afraid to speak her mind. She was beautiful on the outside as well as on the inside. When she walked into a room, you could feel her presence. Her smile could light up any room. Diane was a sister to some, an aunt to many but a friend to everyone.

She was driven by her desire to serve and that led her to join the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses and on October 27th, 2001 she was baptized; thereafter studying under sister Mattie Butts. She became a Regular Pioneer on September 1st, 2005 encouraging others to learn how to read and understand the bible scriptures. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Diane is survived by her sisters: Joanne Favors, Nita Freeman, Johnnie Nell Favors, Loretta Ponder, Lula Bell Franklin, one brother James Favors and one aunt, Cleo Gates. She also leaves behind a host of loving nieces and nephews.

Diane departed from this earthly home on February 27th, 2017. Her struggle is over, there is no more pain and she is at rest. The enemy has been defeated. Weep not, for she is at peace. Those who went before her are (parents) Willie Lee and Hattie Gates Favors, (brother) Willie Lee Favors Jr. and (sister) Emma L. Robertson.
