Harold E. Shields Sr.

Harold Earnest Shields, Sr. was born February 27, 1950 in Geiger, Alabama to his proud parents the late Cozy Shields, Sr., and Ever Louise Shields.

He confessed his life to Christ at an early age at Soul Chapel Methodist Church. Harold attended North Sumter High School in 1969 and later moved to Chicago, IL at age 19.

While in Chicago Harold kept busy working as a masonry with his Uncle for a few years. He later became known as "Blues Man" when he was a truck driver for over 10 years. Harold later spent his last 20 years as a ramp agent and mechanic at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

Harold E. Shields, Sr. met the love of his life Linda Maxwell in 1980. They were united in holy matrimony on September 1, 2004.

Harold E. Shields, Sr. was a practical jokester he loved to scare you with his loud "BAABOOM!" He loved playing softball, bowling, and fishing as often as he could. Harold could grow anything in dirt he was a great gardener and a pure animal lover especially his rabbit name Ghost.

Harold E. Shields, Sr. passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at home with his wife and sons in College Park, GA.He was preceded in death by his parents, Cozy Sr. and Ever Louise Shields, a brother Lessie Shields, and a son Joseph Shields of Holland, MI.

Harold E. Shields, Sr. Leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife, Linda K. Maxwell of Georgia, five daughters: Joanna (Demetrius) Moore of Park Forest, IL, Terra M. Shields of Holland, MI, Robin Shields of Holland, MI, LaCrisha (Leonard) Kenebrew of Chicago, IL, and Fatima Shields of Gary, IN.

six sons: Harold E. (Melissa) Shields, Jr. of Holland, MI, Calvin Shields of Holland, MI, Robert (Raenelle) Shields of Holland, MI, Talterria (Angel) Maxwell, DeRace (Takysha) Maxwell and Cortez (Ebony) Maxwell of Atlanta, GA.

seven sisters: Murlene (Robert) Green of Emelle, AL, Repolar Shields, Annie (William) Woods, Carolyn Shields, Claritha Shields all of Geiger, AL, Barbara Shields of Meridian, MS, Barbara Faye Williams of Geiger, AL.

four brothers: Cozy (Linda) Shields, Jr. of Sauk Village, IL, Lonnie (Mattie) Shields, Elvis (Pammie) Shields all of Georgia, AL, Malcolm (Mary) Shields of Chicago, IL, Jimmy Williams of Geiger, AL, 40 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
