

He is survived by his three children and their spouses: Sarah Krilla (Nate) of Cornelia, GA; Tyler Daniels of Athens, GA; and Katie Griggs (David) of Clayton, GA. He is also survived by his eight cherished grandchildren: Kendall Braden, Hunter Griggs, Jayden Griggs, Nova Krilla, Evelyn Daniels, Rhett Griggs, Noah Daniels, and Chandler Krilla.
Mr. Daniels is additionally survived by his siblings: Bill Daniels, Melanie Pruitt, Julie Harris, and Jennifer Daniels. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill Joe and Mary Frances Daniels; his brother, Gary Daniels; and his granddaughter, Joey Kate Griggs.
Born on March 1, 1959, in Atlanta, GA, Mr. Daniels was the fourth of six children. He was raised in East Point, GA, and graduated from Lake Shore High School in 1977. He later earned his bachelor’s degree from Reinhardt College.
Mr. Daniels began his career as an EMT in 1978. After becoming a paramedic, he completed his firefighter training in 1982. Over the course of more than 30 years in fire service—including with the Roswell and Fulton County Fire Departments—he made a lasting impact on every community he served. His career culminated in helping to found the Johns Creek Fire Department, where he served as its inaugural Fire Chief. Under his leadership, Chief Daniels built the department from the ground up and played a pivotal role in hiring its original members.
Mr. Daniels will be remembered for his heroic service, endearing humor, and unwavering love for his family—as a devoted father, brother, grandfather, and uncle.
