

Mattie Mae Guider, a beloved and cherished resident of Ellenwood, Georgia, passed away on November 23, 2025, at the age of 105. Born on August 15, 1920, in Pike County, Georgia, Mattie Mae was known for her devoted and hard-working nature throughout her long and fulfilling life.
Mattie Mae was the daughter of Dave and Emma Guider and was one of thirteen children. She was a devoted housekeeper by profession, a testament to her loyal and hard-working character. Her family was central to her life, and she was a dedicated mother to five sons: Conyers, Donald (Willena), Gary (Lois), and Virlyn (Myrtice), and Raymond who preceded her in death. Mattie Mae also raised her granddaughter, Terrie Bowens, from childhood, and was blessed with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Her family circle extended to her sister, Jewell Anderson, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Mattie Mae was a committed member of Welcome Grove Baptist Church, where she was known for her community involvement and steadfast faith. Her legacy is one of love, loyalty, and devotion to her family and community.
Mattie Mae's passing is a profound loss for all who knew and loved her, but her legacy of love and devotion will continue to inspire her family and community for generations to come.
