Michael Carter is survived by wife Mindy Carter, children Elisabeth and Paden, younger brother Scott Carter, Sr., multiple nieces, nephews, great nieces, cousins, and more friends than you can shake a stick at.
Mike and Mindy met in kindergarten, they were in the same class. They didn’t always attend the same schools, but they were in the same fourth grade class and the same seventh grade class. They met back up again their first year at Georgia State University. He proposed to her when they were in kindergarten, fourth grade and again when they were young adults. She said yes! They were married 32 years.
He graduated from River of Life Bible College with an Associate Degree in Ministry. Most of his life he was dedicated to serving God. Mike was an ordained minister. Throughout his life he had been a deacon, youth pastor, and Christian counselor.
Mike was also an accomplished musician and songwriter, worship leader and music minister, writing many praise and worship songs. He also participated in the musical scoring for dramas and plays for the youth group.
Mike had a great sense of humor and was quite fond of puns. When told that he was a very ‘punny’ man, he always laughed and replied with “Yes I am!” He adored UGA Bulldogs football so much that his wife has referred to him as a professional fan. As an avid connoisseur of movies, music, and video games, he was practically a database. He enjoyed grilling and smoking meat for family and friends. What he loved most of all was spending time with his family.
