Richard Patton was a gentleman of the first order. When I came with Western Airlines to Delta in 1987, Richard treated me with respect and friendship. He was always eager to help anyone who had a question, or who just needed some good meteorological insight into specific weather situations. Blessed be, Richard, you will always be missed and remembered.

A true gentleman who displayed his faith by his service to others. Dick took me around personally on my first day of employment at Delta (nearly 30 years ago) and ensured all the required paperwork was completed. When he built the shift schedule for meteorologists, he asked junior seniority people like me if there were any specific days we needed off -- an important and caring gesture.

I share in your grief at his passing but hope all will celebrate a life well lived. "Well done, good and faithful servant."

Dear Patton Family, we are so sorry to hear that Dick has passed away!! He was one of the many who trained me when I first started at Delta and I worked with him a few summers forecasting the Air Race Classic. Lots of knowledge in his brain! Big hugs and lots of love from your Delta family!

What a wonderful brother you were Richard. So glad that you were in my life. We had some great times together. Especially Nova Scotia and the Black Hills trips.
Love you
