On July 31, 1971, Rosa married the love of her life, Elijah, in an intimate ceremony in Hawkinsville, Georgia, brought together by the loving hands of Aunt Pinkie. Together, they built a strong and enduring marriage of 54 years, raising two wonderful daughters. Rosa's devotion to her family was unwavering.
Rosa began her journey at NorTel Networks, where she worked diligently until 1993, when health challenges required her to step away. Rosa's indomitable spirit and infectious smile continued to inspire those around her. She filled her days with the simple joys of life by solving word search puzzles, watching game shows, "Walker, Texas Ranger", her beloved black-and-white films, and watching her team The Atlanta Braves.
A devoted member of Beulah Baptist Church, Rosa's faith was a guiding light in her life, and her beautiful soul touched the hearts of everyone she encountered.
Rosa's legacy is carried on by her devoted husband, Elijah (Bo); her treasured daughters, Monica and Celeste; three grandsons Marquez, Montrez, and Montavious (Odasha); her loving siblings, Cleveland (Mishone), Lamar (Alice), Lorenzo (Vondale), Sherry (Ricky), and Sharon (Shawty); and her cherished extended family, including her brother-in-law Charles (Yvette), Matthew (Sandra), Tiffany, Tikira (Pete), Regina, Sharon Whitehead, twelve beloved great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Rosa is reunited in eternal peace with her parents, Clarence and Laura Whitehead; her in-laws, Elijah Sr. and Ruby Mae Turner; her brothers Willie (Bill) and Terry; and her niece and nephews, April, Reginald (Reggie), Rashad (Bubbles), and great-niece Kourtney.
