A Queen's Story
Willie Kate Bryant was born in Atlanta, Georgia at Grady Memorial Hospital to the late Willie and Armell Lakes and she began her extraordinary journey through life. Following the untimely passing of her parents, she found refuge in the care of her devoted grandparents, Grover and Eldora Reid.
Soon thereafter, destiny intervened as she crossed paths with the love of her life, William J. Bryant. Their connection was profound and inseparable, which eventually led them to sealing their love in matrimony. Together, they shared countless years of joy, companionship, and were blessed with the gift of four children: Rodney (Ruby) Bryant, Michael Bryant, Sheila Bryant, and Sharon Bryant. Her love extended beyond her biological children to embrace bonus children, William K. Bryant, Teresa (John) Leslie, and Phyllis Jackson, whom she cherished as her own.
Willie Kate Bryant was a proud alumna at Booker T. Washington High School, where she graduated with honors. Her unwavering faith led her to become a dedicated member at Rivertown Methodist Church, where she graced her beautiful voice to the choir. Momma Kate, a paragon of humility, sweetness, and love opened up her heart to numerous grandchildren and welcomed them into her home with open arms. Her love knew no bounds and she spared no effort in caring for them. After some time in the job industry, she ventured into self-employment as a domestic engineer, excelling in the art of cleanliness until her well-deserved retirement at the remarkable age of 85. Her generosity knew no limits as she extended her loving support to family and friends by chauffeuring them to their destinations.
Willie Kate leaves behind to cherish her memories; Daughter, Sheila A. Bryant, a legacy of love that encompasses a multitude of grandchildren, among them Tamisha Allen, Antonio Bryant, Breonne Wilson, Rashun (Konrad) Parham, Ronda Bryant, Quonsetta (Robert) Robertson, Charmaine Ballard, Brittnae Bryant, and Alex Beasley, all of whom she nurtured in their formative years. Her influence also touched Kimborlyn and Ricky Jackson, Whitney Hill, Janta Arnold, a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nephews, sister-in-laws, cousins, extended family, and countless friends.
In the tapestry of life, Willie Kate Bryant's thread will forever weave through the hearts of those she touched, leaving a legacy of love, warmth, and unwavering devotion.
