Betty Price Allen

Betty Wilson Price Allen, 94, of Bryan, TX, peacefully passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was born on October 10, 1929, in Vernon, AL, to John Wilson and Fannie Alice Price. She attended Lamar County High School.

She was a stay-at-home mom and maintained an immaculate household. She was a lifelong sports fan, watching all sports, especially Astros baseball and Alabama and A&M football. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting and a variety of needlework. She especially enjoyed visiting with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Joe Allen, her parents, her brother Cloyd Price, sisters Ruby Barton, Mary Nell Lollar, and Marilyn Storey of Vernon, AL, and sister Azilee Williams of Union, SC, and step-son Michael Allen of Costa Rica.

She is survived by her daughter Barbara Scamardo of Bryan, TX, daughter Jane Carrier and her husband Gary of Rowlett, TX, grandchildren Leah Scamardo Vernon and husband Donnie of Bryan, TX, Michael Bond of Houston, TX, Lara Scamardo Neal and husband Clint of Boerne, TX, and Thomas Bond of Old Town, ME, and her five great grandchildren Jace Vernon, Garrett Vernon, Sophia Bond, Saylor Neal, and London Neal. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held graveside for Mrs. Allen, Thursday, February 15, at 1:00 p.m. at College Station Cemetery, 2530 Texas Ave South, College Station, Texas 77845.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association or National Kidney Foundation.
