Betty Ann Bauhs, 91, passed away January 22, 2019 at Bastrop Lost Pines Nursing and Rehab. Affectionately called MeMaw by her loving family she so dearly loved to call hers. It was truly her only reason for living. Betty and her loving husband, Derald (PawPaw), devoted 64 years of their lives sharing the gift of family thru dedicated hard work and sacrifice, with love and devotion, rasing five strong and secure children in a safe and loving home. We were truly blessed.
She now rests in the safe arms of Derald, along with her infant daughter, her daughter Shari Volek, granddaughter Mechelle Volek, grandson Mickey Bauhs, her momma and daddy; along with a host of amazing souls waiting to receive her into eternal life. She will be so happy to be reunited.
We will miss her spitfire personality, her persistence to maintain her dignity and her need to protect the ones she loved so dearly. SHE WAS A FORCE TO BE RECKONED WITH! Her fierce personality will be burned into our memories forever!
She is survived by her son, Michael Bauhs and wife Kathleen; daughter, Cynthia Harmon and husband Ed; daughter, René Abel and husband William; son Joe Bauhs and wife Patti; son-in-law, Calvin Volek; twelve grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren and one more on the way!
A funeral service will be 1:00 PM, Friday, January 25th at Memorial Funeral Chapel in College Station. Interment will follow at Rest-Ever Memorial Park. She will be carried with honor by her great grandsons, Zach Parker, Peyton Abel, Isaac, Isaiah and Abel Cardenas, Kyle Harmon, Kaden, Karsen and Karter Harmon, Tristyn Young, Caleb Bauhs and Joshua Barnwell, Jacob Munoz.
