Brian was born to Wm. A. and Pauline Cramer Reade in Anamosa, Iowa. He worked on the family farm near Onslow and raised 4-H calves while participating in many activities at Midland High School including band and choir. At the University of Iowa (UI), he played tuba in the marching band and made lifelong friends.
Brian and Dorothy Lorigan were married on the 8th of July 1967 after which Brian completed his J.D. at the University of Houston. He practiced law in the Houston City Attorney’s office before joining George Mitchell as he developed The Woodlands. Subsequently Brian opened his own law practice.
Brian enjoyed raising his two children including activities with scouts and as a soccer coach and cheered for Matt and Katie on the soccer field and at band contests. Brian was kind and caring to his mother-in-law, Rachael Lorigan and to many who needed help. He followed in his grandfather’s and father’s footsteps as a wood worker and all-around handy man. He turned lamps, and built his work bench, trivets, cutting boards, bread boxes, custom hangers, and rabbit hutches, a wonderful deck and garden boxes. In retirement he became a licensed lawn sprinkler installer and enjoyed working with Edi Martinez. The families celebrated birthdays with stories, laughter and good food.
Brian loved spending time in the backyard with birds, butterflies and flowers.
Brian was pre-deceased by infant twin sons, his brother, Bruce and sister, Jeanine. He is survived by his wife Dorothy, son Matthew Edward and daughter Katherine Marie, brother Brock and wife Cheryl, sister-in-law Mary (Reade) Cox, brothers-in-law Thomas Lorigan and Wm. Patrick Lorigan and wife Julie, and beloved nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews.
