

Derrek Miles Stanfield went peacefully from his earthly home to his Heavenly home, to reside eternally with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, February 9, 2025. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 14, 2025, at Central Church located at 1991 FM 158, College Station, Texas, and will be officiated by Pastor Tim Skaggs. A graveside service will follow immediately at Pool Cemetery in Richards, Texas.
Derrek was born on July 4, 1956 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In 1957, he was adopted by his parents, Jesse and Margret Stanfield and grew up on a dairy farm in Richards, Texas until his family moved to Bryan, Texas. He graduated from Bryan High School in 1975.
In July 1961, Derrek and his family joined Central Baptist Church. Throughout his life, he was active in his church as an usher, greeter, and attended the Men’s Tuesday Night Bible Studies, Uplifter’s Sunday School Class, participated in the annual Easter Pageant, and loved to tell others about his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. One of his favorite Bible verses is John 14:6, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Derrek’s most recent employment was at Texas A&M University in the Moving Shop. He loved to be part of the Aggie community, but after 14 years he retired due to his battle with dementia.
He is preceded in death by his parents Jesse and Margret Stanfield, and brother Devin Stanfield.
He leaves behind his wife of 47 years, Susan Mosier Stanfield, daughter Kristen Margret Treider, son Daniel Miles Stanfield, son-in-law Russell Treider, Jr., and three grandchildren: Hannah Sue Treider, Chloe Jessica Treider, and Evan Miles Stanfield, along with a large host of family and friends.
