

Didar Ahmadi Ray passed away on November 2, 2021 in Bryan, Texas, with her loving family and friends by her side. She was born on May 23, 1929 in the city of Ishqabad in today’s Russia. While she was a young child, her family was exiled to Iran. Growing up with her childhood language of Russian and Turkish, Didar had to learn the new language of Farsi that is spoken in Iran.
Didar married Heshmat Ehsani, in 1949 in the northern city of Mashhad, Iran. Eventually the new couple moved to the capital city of Tehran, Iran, where they started their family and careers. Didar served as a math teacher in the schools in Tehran and eventually as the school administrator. She received many letters of appreciation and commendation, through the years of her service in elementary education.
In 1982, yet again, she immigrated to her new country of the United States of America, to escape religious persecution in Iran. Soon after, her husband Heshmat joined her in the US.
Didar was dedicated to the Baha’i Faith and served the Baha’i communities of Bryan and College Station in many ways. Didar was well known and loved by numerous families in Bryan and College station, through her day care center.
She is survived by her two sons, Mehrdad and Mehran Ehsani, two daughters in law, Zohreh and Patricia Ehsani, four grandsons, Even, Nathan, Philip, Brian, one step grand son, Sam Khadem and his wife, Azade Khadem and two step great grandsons Rayan and Bayan Khadem.
A funeral service for Didar will be held Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Chapel College Station, 2901 Texas Avenue South, College Station, Texas 77845. Following the funeral service will be a graveside service at College Station Cemetery, 2530 Texas Ave South, College Station, Texas 77845.
