

Douglas E. Stark, Jr., 56, MSgt USAF retired, of the Peach Creek Community, passed away Saturday October 1, 2011 at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan. Visitation will be from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. Wednesday October 5, 2011 at Memorial Funeral Chapel in College Station. Funeral Services will be at 11 A.M. Thursday, October 6 at the funeral home in College Station. Harold Keyes, Chief MSgt, USAF retired will officiate. Interment will follow at Peach Creek Cemetery.
Douglas was born June 9, 1955 in Hempstead, Texas to Douglas E. Stark, Sr. and Gladys Franz Stark. He attended North Shore High School in Houston and graduated from North East High School in North Little Rock, Arkansas. On July 23, 1976 he joined the United States Air Force, and proudly served his country for 20 years, 2 months and eight days. He retired on September 30, 1996. During his duty, he served in the Persian Gulf War, and obtained the rank of MSgt.
Douglas moved his family to the Peach Creek Community where they have lived for the past 15 years. He has worked for Texas A&M in the Corp of Cadets, Civil Engineering, and at TEES as Plant/Property Finance Manager. He has also served as Secretary for the National Property Managers Association. Douglas loved to hunt, play golf, raise cattle, feed horses, was a great Bar-B-Quer, and loved to tell stories. He was a great family man and grandpa, with all his grandkids calling him “Boots”. Most of all, he was very proud of being a service man and serving his country.
He was preceded in death by his brother Darren Russell Stark, and his sister Durenda René Stark.
Douglas is survived by his wife Debra Shumway Stark of College Station, Texas; one son, Joshua R. Langston of San Angelo, Texas; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Candace and David Wilson of Grapevine, Arkansas, Amber and Gator Denis of Sheridan, Arkansas, and Sarah “Katie” Stark of College Station, Texas; his mother and father Gladys Stark and Douglas E. Stark, Sr. of College Station, Texas; eight grandchildren, Brodie, Briar, and Brennon Wilson, Chris Wheeler, Alli and Riggin Denis, and Dakota and Madison DeVille; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins.
