Frances Ellen Stinnett Fairbanks made her entrance to the world April 9th, 1941 in Hull- Daisetta TX. She came with fiery red hair and big brown eyes and was welcomed by her father Garrett Stinnett, mother Lucille Reynolds Stinnett Avera and brother Gene Stinnett.
Frances was married to Lloyd Fairbanks on April 21, 1957 in Houston TX and eleven children were born of that union. Deborah (Paul) Neumann Flagler of Normangee, Kenneth (Rita) Fairbanks of Bryan, Jerry Fairbanks of Bryan, John Fairbanks of Anderson, Pamela (Jim) Boyd of Franklin, Lloyd (Annie)Fairbanks of Keith, Regina (Edwin) Villanova of Iola, Mark (Katalla)Fairbanks of Arlington, Christina Fairbanks of Iola, Samuel Fairbanks of Edge and Rosa 'Shelly' Fairbanks.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Gene, husband Lloyd and youngest daughter Shelly.
She was Granny to 33 grandchildren and Great Granny to 33 great grandchildren, not to mention the multitude of others she loved and nurtured throughout her life. She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews.
Frances was an incredibly resilient woman who never found any challenge to hard to tackle. She and her husband worked side by side for the better part of their lives together as small business owners. First in Houston, then Clay, in and around Bryan-College Station and finally in Carlos TX. Frances loved to cook and feed people. She was well known for her scrumptious cornbread dressing and a multitude of other mouthwatering comfort foods. Anytime you stepped into her kitchen you were sure to find a plate of bacon crisply fried just for snacking.
She enjoyed bingo, a good game of cards with family and playing slot machines on an occasional trip to Louisiana or Oklahoma. Dr Phil was her go to guy for problem solving and HGTV held her attention nightly.
Miss Frances will be remembered for her fiery red hair, straightforward temperament, kindhearted ways and blunt honesty. She was a firecracker of a woman who grabbed hold of what she wanted and never stopped working to keep it. She left this world on her on terms with Our Lord's blessings not regretting a single moment of her life. May she rest easy in eternal peace.
