Frank Otken, 82, of College Station, passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 19, 2012 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church of College Station, 1200 Foxfire Drive. Interment will be 1:45 p.m. Monday, October 22, 2012 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
Frank was born January 27, 1930 in Weimar to Dr. Charles Henry Otken and Ella Marosko Otken. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1952, was commissioned and served on active duty during the Korean War. Frank was a pharmaceutical representative with Lederle Laboratories for 34 years. Frank was a member of the Texas A&M University of Former Students for 59 years, an Officer in the American Legion, and served as a recruiter for the Texas A&M University Office of the Commandant. His hobbies include tennis, reading, and traveling.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Dr. Charles Otken of McAllen and Mr. Henry Otken of Baton Rouge, LA.
Survivors include his wife Helen Otken; daughter Celeste Otken and husband Allen Hobratschk of Cave Creek, AZ; sons Jay Paul and wife Linda Sue Otken of Clinton, MS, Wesley Charles and wife Lori Susan Otken of Dallas; his grandchildren Kyle Martin Hobratschk of Dallas, Ashley Elizabeth Otken of Dallas; sister Katherine Otken and husband Jack Branch of Houston.
