Gail was born in Orange Texas before moving to Bryan Texas where she graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in 1956. She was a computer programmer and supervisor for the E.P.A. before retiring and becoming a full-time grandmother. She was an avid tennis player up until a year before her passing. In her younger days, she would play in the men’s tournaments because “the competition was better”. In her retirement years, she had a very loyal group of friends that she played with many mornings each week. She was also an excellent bowler carrying an average of over 190. Her real passion was being a mother and grandmother! If anything involved her children, she was there for them: team mother for three teams at a time was the norm.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Helen (Brown) Scott and her brother Robert Scott (both of Bryan Texas), her ex-husband Lt. Col. Richard Bruce Corbin, and her youngest son, Gary Lynn Corbin. She is survived by John William Bolles (Las Vegas, NV), her partner of almost 40 years and their dog Sandy. Two of her three sons: Vincent Bruce (Naperville, IL) and Douglas Wayne (Kingman, AZ), her grandchildren: Christine Gail Corbin-Fisher (Winston-Salem, NC), Connolly Bruce (Naperville, IL), Crystal Ann (Naperville, IL) by Vince, and Brett Matthew (Hugo, CO) and Kaitlynn Sue (Limon, CO) by Gary. She also has four great-grandchildren by Brett and his wife Christina: Lestat Butler, Ninan Riemenschneider, Alieria, and Alexandria.
A graveside service will be held at College Station City Cemetery on Friday, October 23, 2026 at 10:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, please donate in her memory to the American Cancer Society at Donate.cancer.org.
