“Bobbie” was born Gladys Ida Mamie Schoppe on December 31, 1921 to Willie and Betty Schoppe in Lyons, Texas. She was Baptized on February 19, 1922 and confirmed on September 4, 1938. Growing up on the family farm with her four siblings, she learned early on the values of faith, family, and hard work. She raised two families, having been widowed at a young age and considered her role as wife and mother to be the highest calling. Everyone who knew Bobbie knew her as an excellent cook, a remarkable seamstress and a talented artist.
She loved to laugh, loved to dance and loved to make “monkeyshines.” But above all she loved to Love, sharing God’s love unconditionally with whoever crossed her path.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Laura Uhlig, brothers Emil and Clarence Schoppe, first husband Paul McDonald, son Roger McDonald and grandson Loren Quinn Kasper.
Bobbie is survived by her husband of 56 years, Ray Knox, daughter Paulette and husband Martin Kasper, son Clifford and wife Jeanne McDonald, daughter Cheryl and husband Glen Duckett, son Stephen and wife Vickie Knox as well as 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, sister Leona Wilhelm and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, that a memorial be given to Hospice Brazos Valley or the charity of your choice.
