

Homer Avery Jacobs, III, 49, of College Station died August 26, 2014 at the College Station Medical Center. A memorial service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Monday, Sept. 1, 2014 at Central Baptist Church in Bryan.
Homer was born March 1, 1965 in El Paso, Texas, the son of Patricia (Robinson) and Dr. Homer A. Jacobs, Jr. Homer graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in journalism, Class of ’87. As a student at A&M, he was the editor of The Battalion. After graduation, he was the sports editor at the Sherman Democrat and the Galveston Daily News. He returned in 1992 as the editor of Aggies Illustrated before joining the 12th Man Magazine in 1996.
Homer was preceded in death by his parents, Patricia and Dr. Homer A. Jacobs, Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Laurie L. Jacobs; step-sons, Kenneth Lindsey, David Lindsey, Stephen Lindsey, and Bradley Lindsey; sisters, Lori Scott and her husband Leo, Carol Comey and her husband Rob; a niece, Mollie Scott; nephews, John David Scott, Leo Scott, Jr., Kyle Comey, and Tanner Comey; uncle, Philip Jacobs; aunt, Linda LeFleur; and his cousins.
