

JoAn was born on the 24th of August 1931 in Altoona, Blair County, Pennsylvania, the only child of James and Ima (nee Feather) Sandrus. She grew up in Altoona and graduated from Altoona High School in 1948 and went on to become a Registered Nurse from the Altoona Hospital School of Nursing in 1951. She had many interesting experiences in different places during her nursing career. Her favorite was working for the Headstart Program while in Columbia, Missouri where her husband attended the University of Missouri and received his doctorate degree.
JoAn met her husband, Daryle W, Morgan in the summer of 1950, and they married November 27, 1951 in the Salt Lake City Utah Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They were blessed with four sons. The family moved to Bryan, Texas in 1968 where her husband worked for Texas A&M University. The boys all graduated from Bryan high schools.
JoAn was active in her Church where she served in many capacities over the years in the Relief Society, including the Stake Relief Society Presidency, Branch Relief Society President, a Teacher (many times), Secretary, and Visiting Teacher. She also volunteered for many organizations over the years and very much enjoyed serving in the community. Among her many special interests were reading good books, decorating the house for the holidays and doing family history.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Daryle W. Morgan. She is survived by her four sons David, Keith, Brian, Blair and their spouses. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and twenty-six great grandchildren. The first five grandchildren are quintuplets. JoAn delighted in all her descendants and enjoyed being with her family on any and all occasions.
