Jane Luedke

Jane Luedke, 81, of College Station, passed away Monday, January 9, 2012 at Scott & White Hospital in Temple. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 12, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in College Station with Pastor Michael A. Hafer officiating. Interment will follow at College Station Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, at Memorial Funeral Chapel in College Station. Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Joel and Mary Theresa Edinburgh; husband, Bennie Luedke; sister, Muriel Locke; and a daughter-in-law, Lisa Luedke. She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Pam Basham and husband Bill, of Bryan, and Karen Guyton and husband Morris, of College Station; son, Russell Luedke of College Station; sister, Vivian French of Shiner; four grandchildren, Crystal Faust and husband Grant, of College Station, Tina Matthews and husband Jeff, of McKinney, Justin Engleman of Bryan and Tonya Luedke of College Station; three great-grandchildren, Gauge and Chase Faust of College Station and Ethan Matthews of McKinney. Jane was born May 27, 1930 in Iola the daughter of Joel and Mary Theresa (Crenshaw) Edinburgh. She retired in 1988 from Curry Plumbing after many years of service. Jane loved bird watching and crocheting baby blankets. Researching their family Genealogy was also a hobby of Bennie and Jane. They spent many hours on the road in different courthouses and cemeteries documenting their family’s history. She is a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in College Station. The family would like to thank Comfort Keepers and the Isle at Watercrest for all their wonderful care, Scott & White Temple, Texas CTICU nurses and doctors for the great care mom received, as well as the support given to the family. And very special thanks to Matea Garcia, mother’s caregiver and friend for almost three years.
