Janet Loveless

Janet Micks Loveless, 93, formerly of College Station, went to meet her Lord and Savior on Monday, February 10, 2014 in Plano, Texas. Memorial Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Saturday February 15, 2014 at Memorial Funeral Chapel in College Station. Private graveside services will be at College Station City Cemetery.

She was born to Wilfred W. and Bernice E. Micks on January 4, 1921 in Grand Rapids, SD. She grew up in the Texas towns of Vernon and Gainesville. While attending Texas State College for Women in Denton, she met Sidney L. Loveless who was a student at Texas A&M. They married on June 30, 1939 and made their home in College Station.

Sid and Janet raised four children and were active members of the community. Among other activities, Janet was involved with Girl Scouts and with activities for area youth at Pleasant Acres, the family farm west of town.

Janet would say that the most significant event of her life was entering into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. This happened when she was about 40 and forever changed the course of her life. Her chief delight was studying the Word of God and teaching others what she learned and she generously invested her time in those who shared her desire to know and love God. Her family and others who love her are comforted by knowing that she is “absent from the body but face to face with the Lord.”

She is preceded in death by her husband, Sid, to whom she was married for 61 years, and by her two brothers, Don Micks and Bill Micks.

She is survived by her sister, Bettye Lenski of Arlington, Texas, four children: Joan Rogers and husband Judson, Sidney L. Loveless and wife Jan, William E. Loveless and wife Paige, and Robert A. Loveless and wife Bobbie, four grandchildren: Jason Loveless, Clay Loveless, Amy Rogers Wardlow, and David Loveless, 10 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Janet's memory to Samaritan's Purse, Voice of the Martyrs, or Silverado Hospice in Addison.
