What a friend Jim was =)

Jim cut my hair for nearly 35 years, since I was 6 years old. Over the years we had great conversations about his hunting trips, casino trips, the Aggies/Rockets/Astros/Oilers/Texans, charity work and most importantly about our Savior Jesus Christ.

I enjoyed getting to spend time and pray with him at the hospital a couple of weeks ago, he had a great big smile on his face and told a couple mischievous stories of sneaking things into the hospital ;) It was good to have a laugh together.

Now that our Father has called him home, I'm sure that he and Faye are arm-in-arm, worshiping God right now, enjoying His presence =)

Love you Jim!

John Mayo (the boy getting his first haircut from Jim in other photos) created this colorized-B&W photo of the Redmond Terrace Barbers for a 4-H project, shortly before the shop relocated.

I can't remember the first time I had a haircut from "Barber Jim", instead of A.C. or Roy, but I'm sure it wasn't long after he first moved to B/CS, and well over half of my lifetime ago. 25 years ago last month, he gave our son his first haircut, on March 3, 1993.
A few years ago, he cut our grandson's hair too.
The photo of Jim with his Tundra is one I took after getting a haircut on May 31, 2016. Jim isn't smiling, but I guarantee a laugh and big grin is only a millesecond away !
