Jimmy Dale Fox, 56, of College Station, passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2014. A time for family to receive friends will be held on Saturday, March 22 at 10 am at Memorial Funeral Chapel in College Station, with a memorial service immediately following at 11 am.
Jimmy leaves behind his wife of 13 years, Lisa Bowden; daughters Cassandra Fox and Alexandra Bowden; parents, Phyllis and Dale Fox of Bryan; brother Jerry Fox and wife Susan of College Station; and sister Judy and her husband Chuck Byars of Houston. Other survivors include Cody Fox Byars, Meredith Fox, Morgan and Ricky Scott, Harrison Fox, and Hayden Fox, aunts, uncles, and many cousins.
Jimmy was born on June 20, 1957 in Austin, Texas. He grew up in Livingston, Texas, working on the family’s acreage and developing the incredible work ethic he had his whole life. He went on to graduate from Sam Houston State University in 1980 with a BBA in Finance. He lived in Houston and Galveston before moving to College Station in 2008.
Jimmy was a devoted husband and father. He was blessed with two daughters, for whom he would do anything. “No” was not in his vocabulary when it came to his girls. He loved his dogs, and his beloved dog “Buddy” preceded him in death by only few days.
Jimmy was an amazingly talented carpenter and craftsman. He built incredible treehouses and decks, renovated houses from roofs to floors, and everything he did was incomparably perfect. He was an avid runner, and could often be seen jogging with one of his dogs. He loved to read, and was a lifelong learner, interested in history, current events, and biographies. He was a very quiet man, and he was an excellent listener who never flaunted his knowledge or understanding about the many things he knew so much about, but instead displayed his innate kindness by making everyone he was around feel that he was interested in what they had to say. In every respect, Jimmy defined the attribute “gentleman.” He was loved and will be sorely missed.
