Linda Scott

Linda Lannette Horn Scott aka Penny, age 66, sailed away from her earthly life on September 6, 2026. She debarked for the last time surrounded by family in Galveston, Texas. She was born on December 31,1959 in Nacogdoches to Murray Horn Sr. and Gloria Wright Brigham. She married Alfred Earl Scott Sr. on November 5,1975 and to this union three amazing children were born. Linda and Alfred lived in several different states for twenty years during Alfred’s military career before finally settling down in College Station, TX. Her parents and stepfather (George Brigham) preceded her in death.

Linda enjoyed bowling, bingo, cruising and Dr. Pepper. She worked many years in childcare. She ran a home daycare in California and Texas. Children were her specialty, calling and her heart affectionately earning her the name Nanny to many. Linda was genuine, loving, funny and caring. She was the type of person that made everyone feel that she was their best friend.

Linda is survived by her husband Alfred E. Scott Sr. Their three children: Alfred Scott Jr. (Olivia), Kendra Escobar, April Tedder (Tyquan) and son-in-law Joseph Escobar. Her grandchildren: Josiah, MaKaya, James, Jaylon, Kaylee, MaKenzie, Alexander, Penelope, Carter, and Braxton. Her siblings: Murray Horn Jr. (Pamela), Yolonda Wade, David Horn (Shandra), Gregory Horn Sr. (Lurna), Bryan Horn (Joycelyn), Torie Williams (Grady), and James Horn (LaTonya). As well as her aunt Clinetta Moore (Al) and uncle James Wright (Johnnie), and lots of nieces and nephews. Her sister friends Linda Scott II, Elizabeth Manley, Sharron Simmons, Deborah Campbell Margie Ramirez and Betty Jacobs. Special God Children Derrick Manley and Sarah Manley and many many more that she loved and cherished immensely.
