

Loren Moses King, III, known as Buddy to his friends and family, peacefully went to be with our Lord and Savior on Friday, May 23, at the age of 73. Buddy was the first of four children born in Jacksonville, Texas on January 14, 1952, to Loren Moses and Norma (Allen) King.
Buddy graduated with honors from Marshall High School in 1970. He attended Texas A&M University where he was a member of the Corp of Cadets and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BS degree in building construction in 1974. In 1985 he received an MBA degree from The University of Houston. After graduating from Texas A&M University he started his 45-year career with Fluor Corporation in Houston, Texas. During his career Buddy spent over 25 years on international locations and projects covering, Europe, Africa, Middle East, Far East, Russia and Eurasia. He was an integral part of some of Fluor’s most successful complex major projects during his time at Fluor. His project roles throughout his career included leadership roles in Project Controls, Project Management, Finance, Business development and Contracts. He was a consummate leader and team player that enriched many people’s lives and careers. He continually looked for ways to improve people and projects to achieve their goals and aspirations.
Buddy cherished his many friendships, whether from his early years growing up in Marshall or those formed through his occupational connections made from his many moves around the world. He had a love for anything outdoors, especially if it included family and friends. Whether it was a simple backyard BBQ, swimming with the kids and grandkids, working in the yard or the hunting and fishing trips with the guys, Buddy was always ready. Buddy’s greatest love was his family, and he was always available in their time of need. As a sibling, Buddy was always dependable and someone they could always count on. As a father and grandfather, he always provided sound advice and endless entertainment and laughter. He set a high standard.
Buddy was preceded in death by his parents Loren Moses King, Jr. and Norma Allen King. He is survived by his daughter, Cristina Pellerin (Travis) of Mont Belvieu, Texas; son, Loren King, IV (Ashley) of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Emma and Madison Pellerin, Loren, V, Natalia, and Gerald King; brothers Sam King (Christy) of Longview, Texas, and David King (Josie) of College Station, Texas; sister Sibyl King of Burnet, Texas; nieces and nephews Jonathan King (Mallory), Ashley Bodin (Derrick), Lauren Holasek (Brian), Matthew Stanfield, Sarah Stanfield, Anna Brown (Jansen), numerous great nieces and nephews and special cousins Eleanor McKee (Mike) and Nina Ringley (Lawrence) all of McKinney, Texas.
A memorial service for Buddy will be held at Memorial Funeral Chapel, 2901 Texas Ave. South, College Station, TX 77845 on Saturday, June 7 at 10:00am. You may livestream the service at facebook.com/memorialbryan
