Louise A. Kapfer, 89, of College Station, passed away April 29, 2014 at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Memorial Funeral Chapel in College Station with the Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 5, 2014 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Edwin Kagoo as Celebrant. Entombment will follow in the Msgr. Rev. John Gleissner Mausoleum at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Louise was born April 26, 1925 in Randolph, NE, the daughter of Joseph L. and Kathryn A. (Rosien) Langenfeld. After graduating from High School in 1943 she began her lifelong work with Bell telephone. She retired from AT&T in the early ‘80s. She married Henry J. “Hank” Kapfer in November 1952 in Battle Creek, MI. She was a member of the Mt. Carmel Rosary Guild since 1991 and a founding member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
Louise was preceded in death by her husband Henry “Hank” Kapfer in June 2012; her parents, her sister, Gertrude Kiepura, four brothers: Donald, Harold, Kenneth, Robert and a close family friend Deborah Goodall.
Survivors include her brother, Eugene in Austin, TX, numerous nieces and nephews, and close family friends: Gary Goodall of College Station; Ann G. and husband Ken Lapham and son Nicholas of Weatherford; Rebecca Goodall and her daughter, Hailey of College Station.
The family would like to extend a special “Thank you” to Dee Blackmon and her staff Jackie, Victoria, Paula, Tasha, Megan, Shanna, Brittney, Tahanna and Crystala for the kindness and truly compassionate care of Mrs. Kapfer.
