Mary G. Jones

Mary Gottschall Jones passed away Sunday, May 27, 2012, ending her fight with ALS over the past several months. Funeral services will be private. There will be a visitation at Memorial Funeral Chapel in College Station from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. on May 31st. Mary was a retired first grade teacher and had taught at College Hills Elementary in College Station, Texas for many years. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Bill Jones, son Aaron, his daughter Alex, and his fiancé Jennifer and her children Zach & Addie of College Station, Texas, daughter Laura Myers, husband Greg, and their son Zach of Fishers, Indiana, and son Adam, his wife Shannon, and their daughter Charlotte of Keller, Texas. Mary was preceded in death by her father Andrew Gottschall of Greensboro, North Carolina, her mother Audrey Gottschall of Greensboro, North Carolina, and her sister Andie Liipfert of Fort Valley, Georgia. Mary was born in Norfolk, Virginia, finished high school in Greensboro, and got her Elementary Education degree from the University of North Carolina - Greensboro. Mary was well loved and respected by her family, those she taught with, the numerous students she positively impacted, and everyone who knew her. Mary requested that in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Brazos Food Bank or Habitat for Humanity. God has taken her home.
