When doctors first diagnosed Naseem with cerebral palsy and epilepsy at two months of age, they didn’t expect her to survive beyond 24 months. Naseem exceeded all expectations thanks to devoted, loving care from her parents, grandmother, and countless dedicated caregivers and teachers.
Naseem enjoyed many things in life: spending time with her family and friends, singing along with music, attending spiritual gatherings and community events, sunbathing, feeling the wind, cuddling with her collection of stuffed animals, visiting the beach, tandem horseback riding, swimming, sharing laughter, and smelling flowers.
She radiated joy. Her easy smile was pure and infectious. She was unfailingly loving and provided a master class in patience and tranquility. We will forever miss her inquisitive, expressive eyes, her soft song, and her gentle presence. She was a gift from God to our family, and we take solace in knowing she now rests in His presence.
“O Almighty One Who endowest a blade of straw with the might of a mountain and enablest a speck of dust to mirror forth the glory of the resplendent sun!”
