Norma was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bryan. She worked at Texas A&M for the Department of Agricultural Economics for 36 years and retired on December 31, 2021. She was a strong asset to the University and won several awards during her time to include the Professional Achievement Award and the Vice Chancellor's Award in Excellence for Administrative Support. Norma leaves behind a legacy of selfless service and a reputation of high integrity and professionalism. Her genuine friendship and love for Texas A&M, the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, and the Department of Agricultural Economics were only exceeded by her love for and extreme pleasure in being with her family.
Norma is survived by her son, Marc & Veronica Pantoja of Austin, TX; a sister, Natalie Bailey & family of Bryan, TX; brothers, J. Chaires Becerra of Cedar Park, TX; Juan & Phyl Becerra & family of Las Cruces, NM; Diego & Vera Becerra & family of Bryan, TX; one grandson, Marc Daniel Pantoja; one granddaughter, Zoe Symone Pantoja. Norma was preceded in death by her spouse, Sid (Ysidro) Pantoja and her parents, Diego and Angela Becerra of Bryan TX. She had a very loving & special relationship with all of her nieces, nephews and extended family.
Visitation will be from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm with the recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 pm on Monday January 31, 2022 at the Memorial Funeral Chapel in College Station. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 600 E. 26th St., Bryan, at 10 am, Tuesday, February 1, 2022 with Reverend Brian Eilers as Celebrant. Burial will be at College Station City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or Ronald McDonald House.
