Ramond Lamar Haines, age 93, of Bryan, Texas passed away on Thursday February 15, 2018. A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 PM, Monday, February 19th at the College Station Cemetery, 2530 Texas Avenue S., College Station, TX 77840.
Ramond was born May 4, 1924 in Cuero, Texas the son of Paul and Lydie (Grabow) Haines. He was a graduate of Stephen F. Austin High School in Bryan and Texas A&M, Class '44. While at Texas A&M, he was a member of the Texas A&M Fighting Texas Aggie Band, and the Ross Volunteers.
Ramond served in the Army during World War II as a Field Artillery Unit Commander in the European Theater. He was later recalled to serve again in the Korean War, eventually completing his service as a Captain with a total of 17 years of service to his country.
After returning to civilian life, Ramond worked as a Petroleum Landman for over 50 years and was a charter member of the American Petroleum Landman Association.
Ramond was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Lydie Haines; a sister, Lela Edwards; and three brothers, Paul, Jr., Keith and David.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Mary J. Haines; children, Mary McCarthy & her husband Robert, Martha Haines, Paul Haines & his wife Judy, Lee Haines & his wife Karen; thirteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
