In years, past, if you were someone in need of “doctoring” and compassion, you might have been taken care of by a lovingly stubborn red-headed nurse. If you remember this nurse to have insisted on feeding you, hungry or not, or if you were given a glass of peach tea as you passed by her house on a hot summer day, you might remember Rosemary Doss Sutton.
Rosemary left all those who loved her on November 10, 2013. Her spirit is carried on by her two Children, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two siblings and many of those she befriended along the way. We were blessed to have her these 84 years to pass on all her valuable “hints from Rosemary”. If you were next to her in line at the grocery store, you probably heard about her grandchildren and flourishing tomato plants, with pictures to go with it. Her doctor’s appointments were primarly to catch up on her doctor’s family and share her treasured Hibiscus seeds. She was the best nurse to graduate from St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Galveston, Texas in 1951. She served many well through the profession she loved so much that she could never completely retire. She is now happily reunited in glory with her husband of over 55 years, Dois Sutton.
