He was born on October 4, 1940 in Vietnam, to Duong Van Nguyen and Nghia Thi Truong.
Thinh married Ngoc Thu Tran on October 25, 1964 in Saigon, Vietnam and they raised five children, Tourane, Betty, Peggy, Tony, and Ben.
He later enrolled in the South Vietnamese Army, worked his way up in ranking to become a Major, and joined forces with the US Army to fight against the Communist Party during the Vietnam War era.
During his free time, he enjoyed gardening, taking long walks, watching soccer, visiting his military friends, and spending time with his family.
The joy of his life was his family, especially his ten lovely grandchildren. He was immensely proud of all of their accomplishments and was always their greatest supporter.
Thinh is preceded in death by his parents and two brother-in-laws.
He is survived by his wife Ngoc Thu Tran, his children; Tourane Truong and her husband Tai Huynh, Betty Truong and her husband Anh Nguyen, Peggy Truong and her husband Don Le, Tony Truong and his wife Linda Barabasova, Ben Truong and his wife Thao Cao, and his ten grandchildren.
A private family only Buddhist funeral service will be held at Dignity Memorial Funeral Chapel (College Station). A brief visitation service for friends and family will be held at Dignity Memorial Funeral Chapel (College Station), 2901 Texas Ave South, College Station, Texas on Sunday June 7, 2020, from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM.
