Tim was proud of the various jobs he had: he worked in chemical plants, offshore oil rigs, truck driving, and apartment maintenance. Of all of the work he did, Tim was most proud of apprenticing with his dad in paint and body work, restoring older vehicles and bringing them back to life.
Tim Loved his Church family at Brenham Church Of Christ, where he was baptized after accepting Christ as his personal savior in 2010. He also loved his Senior Center Family.
Tim Rode motorcycles and believed in the brotherhood code that you never ride past another motorcyclist that is broken down on the side of the road. He did many motorcycle benefits over many decades and always contributed as much money as he could. Some of his favorite benefits were Toys For Tots at the Pasadena FairGrounds, and Lake Loon Toy Run.
Tim Loved Nature and his belief was that God intended for us to care for it. His Best bike was an older Harley Sportster which was bored and cammed.
Tim moved from Houston to Chappell Hill, twenty years ago to help his dad and Stepmom at their retirement property: WJ’S Hideaway. He became his Father’s caregiver until he passed away in January of 2020. Later, after his mother suffered a few falls, Tim moved her into his late Father’s house to take care of her.
Tim met his wife at the Senior Center in 2013. On thanksgiving 2014 he asked her to marry him, and they were married New year's Day, 2015. Anthony called Tim a "claim jumper" when he started to kiss his bride before Anthony finished talking. The two life long partners knew that God brought them together and thought of each other as "Keepers".
The family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses from Accent Care Hospice who gave Tim such excellent care in his final days.
Tim is preceded in death by his father, William Garner Jr; step-mother, Martha Garner; brothers, William III, Alan, and Chris Garner.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl Garner; mother, Ginny Jones Garner; niece, Amber Garner; great-nephews, Nathan, Alek, and Abel Garner; aunt, Doris Jones and her husband Burley. Tim absolutely loved that when he married his wife, he inherited a big family. Because of this, he is survived by his wife's five children, five granddaughters, two grandsons, and one newborn great-grandson; and many, many more family members. He is also survived by his Senior Center family, as well as many more friends, including lifelong friends.
Growing up in the city, Tim loved being a 'country boy' and always wanted others to laugh.
A Visitation for Tim will be held on Monday March 4th from 5:30pm to 8pm at the Bryan Memorial Funeral chapel, located at 1515 S College Ave, Bryan Tx, 77801.
