She was born on June 6, 1950 in the small town of Lane City, Texas. The eldest of 8 children to Sipriano and Inez Barron, she accepted the role of leading her siblings and running the house while her parents worked in the fields. One day, at the age of 16, she was invited to attend church by the Chavez Family, a day that would change the rest of her life. Juan Chavez, a tall dark and handsome boy was sent to pick up her and her cousins. She was quite reserved, but Juan continued to pursue her during church services with questions written on the bottom of his shoe asking her to go out with him. They fell in love and soon married. Before long, they began their little family and Juan joined the Army as a means of support. It became their way of life and Virginia accepted the role as a supporting military spouse. The military took them back and forth between the United States and Germany and the family grew, adding twin daughters and their youngest daughter. Living in Europe exposed Vicky to different cultures as she and Juan lived in Germany and would vacation in various places around Europe. Vicky’s life included; owning a mortgage company, returning to nursing as a CRNA and beginning a new business as hotshot freight haulers. Vicky was many things to all. She was a loving and devoted wife, a strong-willed mother, a quick-witted friend, and a doting grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Juan Chavez, her four children, Juan Chavez and wife Claudia, Michele Chavez Foote and husband Jason, Melissa Chavez Sevilla, Erica Chavez-Lopez and husband Ronald, grandchildren Taylor Foote and wife Madison, Lauren Sevilla, Ana Sevilla and husband Shane, Bianca Sevilla, Nathan Foote, Alex Sevilla, and Vicky’s siblings, Martha, Dalia, Raymond and Israel.
