Bill was born August 16, 1945 in Anderson, Texas. As a child, he was a mischievous little boy that liked to run bare foot, play in the woods, swim in the creek and get dirty. He was a “little rascal”, with his brother Randy bringing home slithery gifts to his Mom. As a young man he enlisted in the military as a proud Marine. He loved his country and he defended it while being in the Vietnam War.
Bill, was man of faith, he found comfort and strength in his relationship with Jesus Christ. He loved his time with the Lord, often having his quiet time in the early morning hours. He attended Millican Baptist Church where he became a Deacon. He strived to live his life by His example, showing love, kindness, and humility to everyone he met. His belief in the Lord was a guiding light for those who knew him, and his faith will continue to inspire all who loved him.
As an adult, Bill worked as a high voltage electrical lineman with BTU for 25 years, retired and then went into union work retiring again from Dacon. He loved what he did, making many friends along the way. He worked hard and he played hard. Bill was an avid outdoorsman. He loved the peace and solitude of nature, whether it was hunting in the quiet woods or fishing at the lake or river. These activities allowed him to connect with his children and grandchildren while teaching them the importance of patience, even though he had none.
Bill loved his wife and kids, his love knew no bounds. He was a constant source of strength. A man’s man for his sons, but a gentle heart for his daughters. He had a lot of wisdom, and was always ready to lend a helping hand or share a moment of joy. His greatest pride and joy were his children and grandchildren, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
