Adeline Alvina Cavallaro died after a massive stroke on April 24th, 2022, at age 92.
Adeline was preceded in death by her husband Carmen J. Cavallaro, Jr. who died at age 86 five years before her on April 22nd, 2017.
Adeline was born and grew up in Milwaukee. She met her husband Carmen at a dance club while he was on leave from Great Lakes Naval Academy. They started corresponding with one another, with Carmen visiting her when on leave, eventually marrying. They were married over 65 years at the time of Carmen’s death.
Their first home was in Milwaukee, but a growing family necessitated a move to a larger house in nearby St. Francis, where they resided for 24 years. Adeline was a fulltime wife and mother, a great cook and homemaker. She volunteered as a Cub Scout Den Mother: There were projects for the boys to do and something good for them to eat.
Once her four children grew older, she worked part-time waitressing at Jerry’s Pheasant Bar, a local St. Francis restaurant, the St. Francis Lions Club and several downtown Milwaukee Hotels.
Adeline and Carmen moved to the Covered Bridge Community in Lake Placid, FL at the time of Carmen’s retirement August, 1986 and lived there happily for almost 30 years. They enjoyed attending their local Catholic Church, playing Bridge, lake fishing in nearby Lake June and gardening. Adeline provided edging & trimming services for her neighbors in their senior community.
Failing health forced a move into assisted living with memory care closer to family in Colleyville, TX until their deaths, first residing at the Isle of Watermere Senior Care, South Lake, TX for almost five years. Adeline recently moved to Ellery Arbor Memory Care, Colleyville, TX in January.
Adeline was preceded in death by her parents: Josephine (Kula) and Albert Duda.
She was also preceded in death by all of her siblings and their spouses: Thaddeus (Leona) Rzond, Bernice (Joseph) Oldakowski, Charlotte (Walter) Krasinski, Henry (Loretta) Duda, Diane (William) Tralmer, Leonard Duda, Edward Duda and Donald (special friend Darlene Giese) Duda.
Adeline is survived by her four children, their spouses and two granddaughters: Christine Cavallaro, Bonnie (Christopher) Loy, Joseph Cavallaro, Cathy (Lubomir) Mikota, Alexandria Loy and attorney Julia Mikota.
Per her wishes, Adeline was cremated, with her remains interred alongside her husband’s at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, with some of her ashes to be scattered in Lake June at a later date.
The family has chosen to grieve privately.
Mom is lovingly missed by us all. She is dancing with Carmen again…
